Gift of Giving
How would you feel if you were a child who, at Christmas, was unsure if there would be any gifts at all in your home? For the past 10 years, the Rotary Club of Naples has, in cooperation with Foster Care Council of SW Florida and Germain Automotive, provided a dream come true for many kids. In mid-December, we arrange for a Rotarian to take the children shopping for their foster parents and siblings and afterward attend a luncheon at a dealership to wrap the gifts. The child is also encouraged to pick out a gift for themselves.
It is a truly rewarding experience for all involved and a delight to see the spirit of giving reach those who might not otherwise be so fortunate to receive.
On Sunday, December 12, 2010, we met at the Walmart on the east Trail at 9 AM. This event is completely sponsored by Germain Automotive Group. We shopped with the children for about one hour and then headed over to Germain Honda on Davis Boulevard where we wrapped the gifts and enjoyed a festive atmosphere of giving.
