| Gift of Life
Imagine having a child who cannot enjoy life to the fullest and who,
without available medical treatment, will die before reaching
adulthood. This is a reality in many third world countries. The
Rotary Club of Naples participates in the Rotary International Gift of Life program
to bring children with life-threatening illnesses to the USA for
life-saving surgeries. We raise the money which is $5,000 per child,
host them and provide transportation to either Joe DiMaggio Hospital in
Fort Lauderdale or St. Joseph's Hospital inTampa where they are
evaluated and an operation is performed to correct their defect. While
they recover in Naples, our members give generously of their time to
visit with and entertain the child and their parent.
Sonny Grech
has been our star tirelessly raising money and bringing children to
Naples. To date we have hosted and saved six children and we plan to
keep working to save as many as we are able. If you are moved to
