Kids Against Hunger of SW Florida
What do you get when you mix rice, beans, protein, vegetable flakes and soy? A fantastic community building event that has already fed almost 9 million people! Since its inception in June 2007, Kids Against Hunger, of Southwest Florida has held packaging events not only in Collier County but around the state of Florida and even in other states.
KAH orchestrates the event by setting up packing stations, delivering the food and supplies and instructing the participants in a system that has proven to be hugely successful. Community organizations host the event at their facility and supply the human labor and love to package as well as paying a fee to cover the expenses.
While they have shipped container loads of food to Haiti, most of the food packaged is consumed in Collier and Lee Counties by local charities and even less fortunate families in our school system.
If your organization would like to schedule an event, please contact Steve Popper! For even more information about Kids Against Hunger of SW Florida, click here.
